Angel's Cove holds benefit
A Sisters Celebrate Life benefit for Angel's Cove was held Saturday at West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church. The benefit included a silent and live auction, a fashion show sponsored by Maurice's, using 18 models, and a male dance revue. Angel's Cove provides residential care for teens facing unplanned pregnancies. The facility is also a licensed adoption agency.

Thelma Bumpus
Thelma Louise Bumpus, age 89, from Bonnie, died peacefully at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013. She died from liver failure due to a tumor-like mass in her liver. At the time of her death she had lived more than 16 years at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor, longer than any other resident.
