Construction continues to widen South 42nd Street and Veterans Memorial Drive for the Interstate/Overpass Project. The Illinois Department of Transportation shut down South 42nd Street for improvement to the intersection of the overpass project in August for three months. Once that project is completed, a portion of Veterans Memorial Drive will be closed to finish the improvements.
