Residents throughout the community chose to honor veterans with a parade and memorial services. In Woodlawn, residents gathered around the Woodlawn Veterans Memorial where they had a moment of silence for veterans and soldiers currently serving. Col. R.D. White spoke of the importance of supporting troops during the upcoming holidays and praised the fundraising activities of the Jefferson County Operation Iraqi Freedom Committee.
