Grounder, the mascot for the Southern Illinois Miners, is surrounded by students at J.L. Buford Intermediate Education Center on Wednesday following his anti-bullying presentation as part of the Mt. Vernon District 80’s Red Ribbon Week. The week is dedicated to encouraging students to not use drugs and to raise awareness about bullying and how to avoid it.
