	Cedarhurst Center for the Arts members enjoyed the tastes and sounds of Bourbon Street on Saturday during a members-only Mardi Gras celebration. Children enjoyed games, photos, Mardi Gras beads, mimes and fortune tellers, while adults enjoyed hurricanes and several cooking demonstrations. Live music lightened the atmosphere in the Performance Hall at the Mitchell Museum. Hillary Settle, Cedarhurst director of development, said the museum hopes to make the Mardi Gras party an annual event.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;

	The RoboRams are constructing a robot to compete at the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology Regional at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis.&lt;br /&gt;
	&amp;#8220;Having our kids involved in FIRST is not just about increasing educational opportunities in sciance and technology; but instilling well-rounded life capabilities such as self-confidence, communication and leadership,&amp;#8221; Steve Odle, the team&amp;#8217;s sponsor and MVTHS faculty member said.&lt;/p&gt;

	The first day of Team Quest competition got underway of Tuesday, with the seventh and eighth grade students working to solve problems. One of the problems they worked was to create a model of the Washington Monument, making it as high as they could and making it in sections that could be removed if a section is damaged. They were given pieces of a cardboard box, a newspaper, four pieces of tape and scissors to complete their task. The top seven teams in the competition will move on to next level &amp;#8212; Summersville Grade School, Field Grade School, Center Street School of Fairfield, Opdyke Grade School, St. Bruno School of Pinckneyville, Woodlawn Grade School and New Hope School of Fairfield. Also participating in the competition were Bethel Grade School, District 80, Rome, Waltonville Grade School and Carmi Grade School. Today, fifth and sixth grade teams will compete and on Thursday, third and fourth grade teams.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;
