Arrests

Jeffrey A. Blevins, 23, of the 120 block of Rufus Street, was arrested at 12:05 a.m. Saturday on a charge of home burglary. Bond for Blevins has been set at $10,000.

Christina Washington, 24, of the 400 block of Herbert Street, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. Saturday on charges of forging a signature and resisting a peace officer. Bond for Washington has been set at $3,000.

John E. Payne, 34, of the 320 block of South Second Street, was arrested at 1:51 a.m. Saturday on charges of disorderly conduct. Bond for Payne has been set at $1,000.

Samuel Owusu-gyan, 20, of the 710 block of Main Street, was arrested at 2:12 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving on a suspended/revoked license and resisting/obstructing an officer.

Carl Thomas, 23, of the 400 block of North Sixth Street, was arrested at 2:51 a.m. Saturday on a charge of domestic battery.

Claude E. Kirkwood, 50, of the 1610 block of South 12th Street, was arrested at 3:24 a.m. Saturday on charges of domestic battery, criminal damage to property and interference with evidence going to court.

Jeffrey Helton, 49, of the 220 block of Opdyke Avenue, was arrested at 1:39 a.m. Monday on a charge of contempt of court. Bond for Helton has been set at $1,000.

Lucas L. Shelby, 27, of the 800 block of South 22nd Street, was arrested at 9:14 a.m. Monday on a charge of manufacturing and delivering cocaine. Bond for Shelby has been set at $25,000.

Sam N. Reed, 71, of the 300 block of Jordan Street, was arrested at 10:12 a.m. Monday on a charge of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance. Bond for Reed has been set at $25,000.

Alvin R. Gray, 29, of the 710 block of South 20th Street, was arrested at 10:56 a.m. Monday on charges of domestic battery and aggravated battery of a pregnant person.

Wilbert D. Nailing, 51, of the 750 block of South 10th Street, was arrested at 10:57 a.m. Monday on charges of possession of cannabis and manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance. Bond for Nailing has been set at $10,000.

Connie L. Hall, 39, of the 2700 block of Jones Street, was arrested at 3:21 p.m. Monday on charges of possessing cannabis, possessing drug paraphernalia and manufacturing and delivering cocaine.

Cynthia A. Roberts, 48, of the 320 block of Jordan Street, was arrested at 7:23 p.m. Monday for manufacturing and delivering cocaine. Bond for Roberts has been set at $45,000.

Terry R. Metts, 23, of the 2300 block of Wescott Street, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday on charges of resisting and obstructing an officer. Bond for Metts has been set at $1,000.

Thefts

A report of a burglary to a vehicle was reported at 9:07 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of South 21st Street.

A resident in the 1800 block of East Harlan Road reported an attempted burglary of their garage at 10:14 a.m. Saturday.

A shoplifter was reported being in custody at Sears at 5:57 p.m. Saturday.

An employee of the Drury Inn reported a customer had stolen another customer’s hotel keys at 7:37 p.m. Saturday.

A resident in the 630 block of Lamar Avenue reported at 11:32 p.m. Saturday their house window had been broken after someone threw something through it.

A resident in the 600 block of North Seventh Street reported at 11:01 a.m. Sunday that someone had punched holes in the roof of their convertible.

A report was made at 9:53 p.m. Sunday a wallet had been stolen from a motorcycle parked at Wal-Mart while the owner was inside the store.

A resident in the 310 block of South 24th Street reported a Malibu had been stolen from their driveway at 3:15 p.m. Monday.

A resident in the 820 block of Fairfield Road reported at 4:25 p.m. Monday their tiller had been stolen from a shed sometime last week.

A resident of the 700 block of South 22nd Street claimed at 9:16 a.m. Tuesday their former boyfriend had stolen from them.

A resident of the 1500 block of Conger Avenue reported at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday their son had been battered by three boys.

Incidents

A resident in the 720 block of Conger Avenue complained of kids throwing fireworks at their house at 7:33 p.m. Saturday.

A resident in the 1200 block of Wescott Street reported at 10:23 p.m. Saturday that two groups of people were shooting off fireworks and hitting their car with them.

At 9:28 a.m. Sunday, a woman reported being battered at a hotel on Potomac Boulevard.

A hit and run report was made at 9:43 a.m. Sunday when a vehicle hit a city street lamp and the J & R Appliances building, then kept driving, turning on Broadway Street.

A report was made at 2:49 p.m. Sunday about a dog being left in a car with the windows rolled up for two hours in the parking lot of the Rolland Lewis Community Building.

A resident of the 700 block of Lamar Avenue reported at 5:14 p.m. Monday their son had been battered in a dispute over a baseball glove.

A resident of the 900 block of Salem Road reported at 10:47 p.m. Monday they had battered their roommate and kicked them out of the apartment.

Fires

A transformer blew out and caught on fire at Ameren IP at 9:13 p.m. Saturday. The fire caused some businesses and residents on the west side of Mt. Vernon to experience a power failure as a result.



Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

Jimmy L. Burgess, 48, of Xenia, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. Saturday on a charge of contempt of court. Bond for Burgess has been set at $1,500.

Tracy E. Wilson, 40, of Sandoval, was arrested at 12:38 a.m. Sunday on a charge of contempt of court. Bond for Wilson has been set at $1,500.

Debra M. McKinney, 32, of Woodlawn, was arrested at 2:37 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of domestic battery.

Melissa Shanks, 33, of Woodlawn, was arrested at 3:13 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of domestic battery.

Thefts

A resident of Texico reported at 5:25 a.m. Sunday that someone had broken into their vehicle and garage and stolen items.

A resident of the 1310 block of North 10th Street reported their green pickup truck and it’s contents stolen at 9:18 a.m. Sunday. At 9:57 a.m. Sunday, the green pickup truck was reported found in Texico. Some of the truck’s contents were recovered, according to reports.

A resident of Bluford reported at 10:18 a.m. Sunday their home office had been broken into and computers had been stolen.

A resident in the 20200 block of North Tolle Lane reported their barn had been broken into and a 4-wheeler stolen at 12:36 p.m. Sunday.

Incidents

A resident of Waltonville reported at 9:12 a.m. Saturday a truck had caught on their home satellite dish and it was being dragged into the road because the truck would not stop.

Police received a call at 8:31 p.m. Saturday about a 4-wheeler with a baby on the back being driven down a public road in Bonnie.

At 8:44 p.m. Saturday, a report was made about a horse running loose on North Tolle Lane.

A resident of Bonnie reported at 7:50 a.m. Sunday the windows of their garage had been shot out.
