Arrests

Richard H. Reynolds 41, of the 800 block of South 19th Street, was arrested Monday at 4:23 p.m. on charges of aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal defacement. Bond was set at $5,000.

Rebecka A. Castro, 37, of the 300 block of South Second Street, was arrested Monday at 8:43 p.m. on a charge of contempt of court. Bond was set at $1,500 and Castro was released.

Jamie C. Stanley, 19, of the 600 block of Chesterfield Apartments, was arrested Monday at 8:31 p.m. on a charge of driving with a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $1,000 and Stanley was released.

Kenneth R. Barker, 59, of Marion, was arrested Monday at 3:47 p.m. on a charge of retail theft. Bond was set at $1,000 and Barker was released.

Thefts

Tuesday at 6:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a theft at the Drury Inn. Sideview mirrors were stolen from several vehicles in the parking lot, according to police reports.

Police responded to a report of stolen checks at 10:46 a.m. Tuesday in the 3400 block of Veterans Memorial Drive.

Thefts

Friday at 4:33 p.m., police responded to a report of a theft at Love’s Travel Stops in Ina. Someone stole gasoline, according to police reports.

Incidents

Tuesday at 8:07 a.m., police responded to a report of a scam in the 121600 block of Idlewood Road. A resident receieved a check in the mail claiming they needed to pay a service tax to receive the money, according to police reports.

Monday at 4:03 p.m., police responded to a report of a scam in the 1300 block of North Illinois Highway 148, in Scheller. A resident received a phone call claiming their debit card had been deactivated, and they needed to enter their number for it to be reactivated, according to police reports.

Sunday at 8:06 a.m., police responded to a report of a scam in the 17900 block of East Franklin Road, Ewing. resident received a phone call claiming their debit card had been deactivated, and they needed to enter their number for it to be reactivated, according to police reports.

Monday at 11:42 a.m., police responded to a report of animals running at large on East Fairfield Road in Bluford. Six or seven Holstein cows were running along the roadway, according to police reports.

Fires

Sunday at 5:08 p.m., police and Jefferson County Fire responded to a report of a structure fire in the 400 blocok of West Allen Drive, Bonnie. The fire was contained to the flue of the house, according to police reports.

Police and Waltonville Fire responded to a report of a barn fire Saturday at 8:27 a.m. in the 7300 block of East Casper Road in Waltonville.
