Area man arrested for child battery

Staff Report

MT. VERNON — A Lynchberg Road man has been arrested for allegedly beating his 2-month-old baby.

Joshua Snow, 23, of the 17500 block of East Lynchberg Road, was arrested at 5:40 a.m. and charged with aggravated battery of a child, a Class X felony.

According to court documents, Snow allegedly hit the baby about the body with his hands. Police reports indicate Snow was arrested after a report was made by St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital that an infant that had been severely beaten was being treated in the emergency room.

Snow is being held in the Jefferson County Justice Center on $250,000 bond. A preliminary hearing in the case has been set for July 29.
