MT. VERNON —
Hundreds of community members, staff, administration and special guests attended the official blessing and dedication of the new Good Samaritan Regional Health Center on Monday. Michael Warren, president of Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, served to welcome those in attendance and introduce other speakers at the event. The blessing and dedication were completed by the Most Reverend Edward K. Braxton, Bishop of the Belleville Diocese. Those who were part of the official ribbon cutting portion of the program were Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brandon Bullard; Warren; Sister Clarette Stryzewski, president and CEO of Felician Services and chair of St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Board of Directors; William P. Thompson, president and CEO of SSM Health Care; Phil Gustafson, CEO of St. Mary’s Good Samaritan and vice president of SSM Health Care; Dr. Anthony Vacca, president of the medical staff; Mt. Vernon Mayor Mary Jane Chesley; Bruce Merrell; Jefferson County Development Corporation Executive Director Mary Ellen Bechtel; Bob Brown; Wendy Williams; and Bill Beck of the hospital foundation board.
