Residential property permits for January include:
The city issued eight demolition permits this past month, although the City of Mt. Vernon had one permit that included the demolition of 13 properties. Demolition permits were issued for the following projects:
n PFS Properties, 220 S. 18th St., demolition of house and outbuilding;
The city issued just one sign permit, to T. Ham Sign Inc., to erect a sign at 912 S. 10th St. at an estimated cost of $3,100.
The city issued $61.5 million in projects during 2012, which is a decrease of $32 million from the previous year. However, of the $94 million in projects during 2011, $42 million came from an expansion at Continental Tire of the Americas.
The company announced plans a week ago for a $237 million expansion project of its facilities in Mt. Vernon.
