The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce and the Educational Clearinghouse are offering the final three sessions in the 2012-2013 Leadership Academy in January, February and March.
Brandon Bullard, Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce executive director, said the chamber has been providing the workshops for at least 10 years.
“It is very much a beneficial program, not only for inexperienced leaders, but also for veterans,” Bullard said. “There’s something for everybody.”
Every session will begin at 8:30 a.m. and go until 11:30 a.m., and then attendees will be encouraged to attend the chamber luncheon held immediately after.
The January and February sessions are both based on a book by John C. Maxwell, titled “Leadership Gold.”
The January session will be presented by David Keen at the Holiday Inn, with a topic of “John Maxwell’s Leadership Gold, Pt. 1.”
Keen’s topic will continue into the Feb. 21 session at Community First Bank with part two.
The sixth and final session will be held at 8:30 a.m. March 21 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center. The topic “Difficult Conversations in the Workplace” will be presented by Brenda Alexander.
Bullard said pricing is different for the leadership academy this year. To attend each session, the cost will be $300 for chamber members and $350 for non-chamber members; to attend either the first three or last three sessions, the cost will be $200 for chamber members or $225 for non-members.
Registration forms are available at the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce at 200 Potomac Boulevard.
