Continental Tire of the Americas recently received the Rubber Manufacturers Association Safety Improvement award. The RMA award is designated for manufacturing plants in the U.S. that achieve an incidence rate that is both 10 percent better than its rate in the previous year, and the same or better than the RMA average incidence rate.
One hundred thirteen plants from 28 RMA member companies supplied data for the annual survey to determine the extent of workplace safety improvements. The Continental Tire plant at Mt. Vernon which produces both CVT and PLT tires for the Americas, was of one of six tire sector companies to receive this prestigious Safety Improvement Award for 2010.
“We strive on making Continental Tire a safe place to work and we are proud of the efforts of our employees in achieving this level of safety performance” Teresa McIllrath, safety manager, said.
