MT. VERNON —
Three Jefferson County residents have been formally charged for allegedly participating in two recent bank robberies.
Jeffrey M. Wilson, has been charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of financial institution robbery in connection the Nov. 27 robbery of Community First Bank of the Heartland in Woodlawn. He faces further charges of two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of financial institution robbery for his part in allegedly robbing the Jefferson County Schools Credit Union in Mt. Vernon.
Jessica S. Wilson, 30, of Waltonville, is facing two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of financial institution robbery in connection with the credit union robbery.
Amy M. Ramsey, 27, of Waltonville, is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of financial institution robbery.
Jessica Wilson is Jeff Wilson’s wife, and Ramsey is Jessica Wilson’s sister. According to court records, Wilson allegedly used a firearm when he robbed the Woodlawn bank. Ramsey allegedly suggested to bank tellers at the Jefferson County Schools Credit Union she was armed with a firearm during its robbery.
Jeffrey and Jessica Wilson were arrested in Mt. Vernon by Mt. Vernon Police detectives on Dec. 11. Ramsey was arrested a short time later at a home in Waltonville.
All three defendants are in custody on $500,000 bond each. The Grand Jury convened on Thursday, and each was given a formal indictment. They are scheduled to appear in video court this afternoon, where counsel is expected to be appointed.
