MT. VERNON — A 70’s and 80’s Disco/Cookie Rally will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at St. Mary’s Parish Center for all girls in Jefferson County.
During the event, girls will be able to dance to Disco era hits by Donna Summer, Aretha Franklin Gladys Knight and the Pips among others. Music from oldies to current sensations will be played.
During the Disco event, girls will receive information about the annual Girl Scout Cookie Sale campaign in which girls will be taking orders from Jan. 10 through 25. Cookies will be delivered on March 9.
A participation fee of $5 for Girl Scouts and $15 for non-registered Girl Scouts is required. In addition, attendees are asked to bring an item for donation to the Nutrition on Weekends program. Items needed include cereal bars, juice boxes, peanut butter, Raman noodles, Beanie-Weenies, granola bars and fruit, pudding or applesauce cups.
