Lowery chosen as driver of the month for Crete Carrier

Staff Report

WOODLAWN — Village resident Jack Lowery has been chosen as driver of the month for Crete Carrier Corporation for October 2008.

Lowery and his wife Paula are Woodlawn residents, and Lowery started driving 24 years ago, and has logged more than three million miles, according to company information.

“Jack is professional and conscientious in all aspects of his job,” Donna Jenkins-Moore, Lowery’s supervisor, said. “He is customer-oriented and safety is his top priority. Dispatch has complete confidence in Jack to pick up and deliver loads on time while working within the bounds of hours of service regulations.”

Lowery, who works from the Indianapolis terminal, will receive a plaque and compete with drivers of the month from 16 other terminals for the Crete Carrier Corporation Driver of the Year award.

Requirements for Driver of the Month include being accident free for the month of recognition, maintain mileage requirements, keep accurate logs and warrant no disciplinary actions stemming from complaints within or without the company.

Crete Carrier Corporation is based in Lincoln, Neb., and has 17 terminals, about 3,734 trucks and hauls general goods throughout the continental U.S., Canada and Mexico.
