ASHLEY —Two Jefferson County residents died over the weekend as a result of a two-vehicle accident on Illinois Route 15.

According to information from the Illinois State Police, at 11:10 p.m. Friday Kelly A. Breaux, 25, of Belle Rive, was driving eastbound on Illinois Route 15, when she went into a curve near Old State Road. Breaux lost control of her vehicle, going into the westbound lane and was struck by a vehicle driven by Mary A. Dees, 51, of Ashley.

Breaux and her passenger, Robert McGuire, 25, of Mt. Vernon, received fatal injuries.

Dees was transported to St. Louis University for treatment of injuries, the ISP stated.
