MT. VERNON — Crossroads Community Hospital will host a community education seminar and free screening directed at those who suffer from foot drop from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on May 30.
Foot drop is not a disease. It results from an injury or illness that makes foot and ankle muscles weak or paralyzed, according to information from the hospital.
Some medical conditions which can affect the central nervous system may also cause foot drop including stroke, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, incomplete spinal cord injury or cerebral palsy.
The seminar will be held in the Crossroads Hospital Executive Conference Room. A light brunch will be served.
Seating is limited and reservations are required. Reservations may be made by contacting Debi at 241-8510.
