Staff Report
CISNE — The Illinois State Police and Wayne County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the death of a former Bluford resident.
According to Wayne County Coroner Jimmy Taylor, the body of Stephanie E. Hayes, 39, of Cisne, was found on the floor of her home shortly after noon on Tuesday.
An autopsy was performed Wednesday afternoon, Taylor said, and officials are awaiting toxicology results to determine the cause of death.
Hayes was a nurse in Flora and a former Bluford resident, Taylor confirmed, and said she recently moved to Cisne to be closer to her work.
The investigation into her death is still ongoing.
