Arrests

  • Matthew Aaron Reed, 45, of the 700 block of Main Street, was arrested at 10:43 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of violating an order of protection.
  • Rose Ann McCormick, 28, of Sims, was arrested at 9:23 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of retail theft. Bond was set at $1,000.
  • Gary Williams, 22, of the 18200 block of East Liberty Road in Opdyke, was arrested at 11:07 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of violating an order of protection. Bond was set at $1,000. Williams was released.

Thefts

  • Theft was reported in the 300 block of North Fifth Street at 9:52 a.m. Thursday.
  • An employee of Wal-Mart told police at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday a woman used store supplies to glue glitter to a purse. The store said this was the woman’s second offense, and she was arrested. 
  • A vehicle battery and a drill were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 500 block of South 15th Street at 4:42 p.m. Wednesday.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

  • Jeremiah N. Lemons, 24, of the 100 block of Johnson Avenue in Bonnie, was arrested at 10:16 a.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of cannabis and drug equipment. Bond was set at $2,500.

Incidents

  • An employee of Bluford Grade School reported at 9:57 a.m. a suspect on a four-wheeler tore up a speed bump on school property overnight.
