Mt. Vernon — Lois (Duncan) Shoemaker celebrated her 90th birthday on Tuesday, Oct. 9. She was born on Oct. 9, 1922, in McLeansboro. Her parents were Orval and Anna Duncan. She married Kenneth R. Shoemaker on April 22, 1939. Their children are daughter Patricia (Shoemaker) Benson, sons Kenneth R. Shoemaker (deceased) and Bobby Gene Shoemaker (deceased). She has two granddaughters, Joy Ann (Benson) Presley and Wendy Lee (Benson) Potts, and one grandson, Kenneth R. Shoemaker III. She has eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
