John and Dee Hercules will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Nov. 8. John Hercules and the former Dee Ann Phifer were married on Nov. 8, 1969, at the Loda United Methodist Church, Loda, by the Rev. Frank L. Phifer, father of the bride.
Their family includes two sons, Christopher and Nicholas, both of Mt. Vernon, and daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Sam Shafer of Bitburg, Germany; and two grandchildren, Kaylee Hawkins of Mesa, Ariz., and Treyton Hercules of Mt. Vernon.
No special plans have been made for the occasion but the couple would love to receive cards that may be sent to 1403 S. 26th St., Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
