MT. VERNON — Mr. and Mrs. Rick and Carolyn (Westman) Wallis of Liberty, Mo., formerly of Mt. Vernon, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alyssa Nicole Wallis, to Justin Lee Oldham.

Justin Oldham, of Mt. Vernon, is the son of Michael Oldham of Findlay and Victoria Brady of Strasburg, both formerly of McLeansboro. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Marjorie Oldham of McLeansboro.

He is a 1995 graduate of Findlay High School, a 1997 graduate of Mid-America College of Mortuary Science and Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Ind., with an associate in applied science degree in mortuary science and funeral service, a 2001 graduate of IVY Tech in Sellersburg, Ind., with an associate of science degree in nursing. He is employed at Hughey Funeral Home as a funeral director and embalmer.

Alyssa Wallis is the granddaughter of Mrs. Alice Westman and the late Charles Westman of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Vivian Patterson of Noble, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Edie Wallis of Springhill, Fla. She is a 2006 graduate of Liberty High School in Liberty, Mo., and a 2010 graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a bachelor of science degree in mortuary science and funeral service. She is currently serving her apprenticeship at Hughey Funeral Home to be a licensed funeral director and embalmer.

The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Oct. 15, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon, with a reception to follow at the Elks Lodge in Mt. Vernon.
