Boil orders lifted
Boil-water orders have been lifted for the 700 and 800 blocks of South 19th Street, the 1800 block of Conger Avenue, the 1100 block of Airport Road, all of West Beacon Court, all of East Beacon Court, and the 400 and 500 blocks of South 22nd Street.
HCE to meet
The Jefferson County HCE will hold its January lesson on Jan. 15, at 1 p.m. at the Don Lee Building.
Improv night to be held
Rend Lake College student thespians are hosting a free comedy improv night 7 p.m. Jan. 24, in the RLC Theatre. The show is open to the community, free to attend and audience interactive. Food giveaway set
A free food giveaway will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pendleton Township Building in Opdyke. The give away is compliments of Providence Church in Opdke. Health Department Board to meet
The Jefferson County Board of Health will meet today at 6 p.m. at the Jefferson County Health Department.
Waltonville board to meet
The Waltonville Community Unit School District 1 will hold its school board meeting on Jan. 17. The meeting time has changed from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Discipline Committee to meet
The public is invited to be an active participant in the Mt. Vernon Township High School monthly discipline committee meetings. The first meeting is Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. in room 202A. The agenda this month will pertain to the MVTHS current alcohol and drug policy.

Student Art Show scheduled
The Rend Lake College annual Student Art Show will run March 28 through May 3 in the Learning Resource Center at the college. It will feature work by RLC students and area high school students. A reception to kick off the show will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. March 28 in the RLC Theatre lobby. Hors d'oeuvres will be served from 6 to 7 p.m, followed by an awards presentation. -

The Mt. Vernon Township High School music department will host its annual Music in our Schools concert, 7 p.m. on March 19. Performances will include students from MVTHS, Casey Middle School, the Primary Center, Summersville Grade School, Field Grade School, Rome Grade School, Bethel Grade School, Dodds Grade School, McClellan Grade School and Bluford Grade School. Admission is free. -
