    Fundraiser set
    A fundraiser for the Building Fund of the Lively Stone Apostolic Church, 1700 Oakland Ave., will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 15.
    For a $7.50 donation, participants will be offered fish, spaghetti, cole slaw, bread and drink.

    Billing date error reported
    Due to an error on the water bills that went out in the mail on Tuesday, Feb. 26, by the City of Mt. Vernon, the due date reads, "2-14-13" and should read 3-14-14." The accounts affected begin with numbers 288 through 430. If you have any questions, please call the billing office at 242-6821.

    Genealogy Society to meet
    The Jefferson County Genealogical Society will meet March 2, at 1 p.m. in the Brehm Memorial Library meeting room. The speaker will be Ellen Breeding, who will present a program of songs, music and stories about St. Patrick's Day. As always, refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited to attend.

    A small area in the Woodlawn Water District has been placed on a boil-water order due to a repair on a line located on Presley Lane. The area under the boil order includes 11061 N. Presley Ln., south to Casablanca Road in Mt. Vernon. The order is in effect until further notice.
