MT. VERNON — —
Charles “Frank” Strain, 61, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 2, 2012, at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.
He was born Sept. 26, 1951, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Charles A. and Vada L. (Carter) Strain.
Frank was the maintenance supervisor at Rome Meadows in Dix. He was an Army veteran.
Mr. Strain is survived by son, Nathan Charles Strain and wife Amber of Dushore, Pa.; grandsons, Ethan and Marshall Strain of Dushore, Pa.; and sister, Trava Campbell and husband Billy Joe of Mt. Vernon.
Mr. Strain was preceded in death by his parents; a brother , Donnie Strain; and a sister-in-law, Lou Ella Strain.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kirk Cemetery in Ina with the Rev. Dennis Myers officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
Those attending the graveside service on Tuesday are requested to meet at the cemetery.
