Joe B. Beasley, 65, of Mt. Vernon, died 11:47 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Thursday, June 26, 1947, in Mt. Vernon, son of Billy Joe and Josephine (Cottonaro) Beasley. He married Debra Kelly on Dec. 22, 1980, in Mt. Vernon.
Before retiring, Joe worked for National Cash Register as a repairman and also worked as a TV repairman for various businesses in Mt. Vernon. He was a member of the National Guard and attended Faith Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Beasley of Mt. Vernon; stepdaughter, Melissa Sutt and friend Lorenzo Walthon; step grandchildren, Dominic Miguez and Victoria Miguez; sister, Sandra (Beasley) Miller and husband Eugene of Mt. Vernon; nephew, Billy Miller and wife Renae (Tonneson); niece, Lori (Miller) Showers and husband Will; great-nephew, Adam Miller; and great-nieces, Anna Showers and Samantha Showers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Joe. A. and Esther (Dietz) Beasley and Jim and Alice (Emily) Cottonaro.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Mark Girardin officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
