Margie Ann Reece, 76, of Mt. Vernon, died 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Mt. Vernon Health Care in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Saturday, June 27, 1936, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Alfred P. and Naomi Helen (Foley) Rogers. She married Jerry Edward Reece on Aug. 17, 1957, in Mt. Vernon, and he preceded her in death on May 1, 2001.
Margie was employed by Care All Answering Service for several years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Debra Lansdowne and husband John of Mt. Vernon and Deidra Dawn Parks and husband David of Mt. Vernon; son, Doug Reece of Gatesville, Texas; six grandchildren, Kyle Lansdowne of Mt. Vernon, Amanda (Lansdowne) Huntman and husband R.J. of Mt. Vernon, Alisha Lansdowne of Mt. Vernon, Jacob Parks of Mt. Vernon, Brendan Parks of Mt. Vernon and Adam Parks of Mt. Vernon; three great-grandchildren, Karter Lansdowne of Mt. Vernon, Makenna Smith of Mt. Vernon and Kyler Huntman of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Joycelyn Passmore and husband Gene of Mt. Vernon, Barbara Dolan and the late Richard Dolan of St. Louis and Judy Newbury and husband Bill of Mt. Vernon; brother, Don Rogers and wife Joyce of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Bill Fullerton and wife Barbara; and one infant sister, Donna Jean Rogers.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Mr. Josh Hartwigsen officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
