MT. VERNON — John A. Kluck, 70, of Mt. Vernon, died 1:46 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at his home in Mt. Vernon.

He was born March 26, 1941, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Willis and Edrie (Lyle) Kluck. He married Helen Turner in Mt. Vernon; she survives in Mt. Vernon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John W. Kluck and wife Kathy of Winston, Ga., and Robby G. Kluck of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Lisa Kluck Luth and husband Mark of Swansea; five grandchildren, Amber Schultz and husband Seth of Mt. Vernon, Amie Taylor of Swansea, Alicia Shayanowako and husband Simba of Mt. Vernon, Dustin Kluck and wife Ashley of Georgia and Robby Kluck Jr. of New York; three brothers, Jackie D. Kluck and wife Bonnie of Ina, Jerry E. Kluck of Mt. Vernon and Jim G. Kluck of Mt. Vernon; six great-grandchildren, Hailey, Maia, Dakota, Jayden, Kaden and Destinee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joan Meeks and Linda L. Kluck in infancy; a brother, Artie “Butch” Kluck; a sister-in-law, Thelma Kluck; and a brother-in-law, Durand Meeks.

John worked at the Mt. Vernon Stove Foundry and was later a parts picker at Austin-Western Electric Company and was a member of Words of Life Church.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Guy Leonard officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home.

For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Words of Life Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
