Denise C. Milligan, 60, of Mt. Vernon, died 3:57 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Thursday, July 31, 1952, in Mt. Vernon, daughter of Clarence and Verna (Rumohr) Hamment. She married George Harold Milligan on Aug. 18, 1970, in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2003.
Denise worked as a field representative and manager for Defenders Industry for over 30 years.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Milligan and special friend Jennifer Warren of Mt. Vernon and Craig Milligan of Mt. Vernon; granddaughter, Katie Milligan of St. Louis; two brothers, Dan Hammett and wife Jane of Mt. Vernon and Dale Hammett and wife Barbara of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Donna Prince and husband Ralph of Missouri and Darlene Proctor and husband Dean of Missouri; sister-in-law, Teresa Greene of Bluford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. John Ashby officiating. For those who wish, meet at Hughey Funeral Home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. to proceed to Bethel Memorial Cemetery for the graveside service. Interment will be at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
