Jack L. Stone, 58, of Mt. Vernon, died 1:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at his home in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1954, in Mt. Vernon, son of William Edward “Bill” and Dorothy Jean (Flint) Stone.
Jack was a farm hand and worked at a sawmill. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two brothers, Bob Stone and wife Kim of Killeen, Texas and Russell Stone and wife Susan of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Sandra Goodman of Terre Haute, Ind., Fay Kirk and husband David of Mt. Vernon, Marsha Craig of Mt. Vernon and Joanne Davis and husband Coran “Red” of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Stone, Jr.; one sister, Nancy Vandiver; and two infant siblings.
Graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke with Mr. Randy Steele officiating. Interment will be at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke.
He will be cremated and there will be no visitation.
