MT. VERNON —
Mr. John M. Kujawa of rural Ashley departed this life at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon at 11:41 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, after a sudden illness. He had attained the age of 46 years, four months, and 17 days.
Mr. Kujawa was born in Nashville on July 21, 1966, the son of Marion and Betty (Kasban) Kujawa. He was united in marriage to Becky Rector at St. Michael Catholic Church at Radom on Sept. 6, 2003, and she survives his passing.
John was a certified public accountant and owned and operated Centralia Business Services for several years. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Radom and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved Cardinals baseball, bowling, playing darts and NASCAR racing.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Becky Kujawa; his father and stepmother, Marion and Dianne Kujawa of Ashley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn and Sandy Rector of Centralia; paternal grandmother, Veronica Kujawa of Waltonville; a sister, Linda Kujawa and special friend Jeff Bundy of O’Fallon; three stepbrothers, Terry Schettler and special friend Nancy Janowski of Ashley, Nick (Beth) Schettler of Beulah, N.D., and John (Carrie) Schettler of Ashley; a stepsister, Tracy Sanders of Ashley; a sister-in-law, Melissa O’Connor of Centralia; nine nieces and nephews, C.J., Sam, Brendon, Bryce, Adyson and Dylan Schettler, Matthew Sanders, Rylan and Nevan O’Connor; and other relations and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Kujawa, on June 13, 1991; paternal grandfather, John Kujawa; and maternal grandparents Walter and Elizabeth Kasban.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, with Father Dale Maxfield officiating, with interment in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the St. Michael Catholic Church at Radom on today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
The rosary will be recited at St. Michael Catholic Church at 8 p.m. today.
Should friends desire, Mass offerings or memorials can be made to the St. Michael’s Catholic Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
