Charles R. Davis, 80, of Tampa, Fla., passed away on Oct. 8, 2012.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1931, in Mt. Vernon, to Claude and Avva (Lowry) Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gladys Moehlenkamp Davis; his son, Steve (Angela); his daughters, Pam Snead and Debbie (Greg) Sibley; great-nephew, Eddie Rivera; grandchildren, Ryan Davis, Kristen, Karlee and Kelsey Sibley; his sister, Peggy Teague; brothers, Robert M. Davis and Larry Rockett; uncle, Ralph (Bill) Rockett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlie was a member of the Community of Christ, served as a former pastor and was an Elder. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 123. He served in the Army during the Korean War, and was a prisoner of war for 33 months. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed time with his family and will be missed greatly.
Service will be held Friday at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave, Tampa, Fla. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., and the service is at 11 a.m., followed by internment at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Parkinson Foundation.
