MT. VERNON —
Lawrence Gale “Larry” Manson, 69, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Mt. Vernon, died 8:17 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
He was born Sunday, Aug. 1, 1943, in St. Louis, son of Jim and Wanda (Waters) Barker. He married Christy Bateman on Nov. 1, 1974.
Larry served in the U.S. Navy and he owned and operated Manson’s Auto Sales.
He is survived by wife, Christy Manson of Pensacola, Fla.; four daughters, Sonya McElroy and husband Jeff of Mt. Vernon, Stephanie Shelton of Forsythe, Mo., Stacy Michael of Texas and Jamie Fountain and husband Eric of Navarre, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kirk Cemetery in Ina with Mr. Eric Fountain officiating. Interment will be at Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Members of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141 will conduct full military honors at the cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
