MT. VERNON —
Diana L. Shreves, 57, of Mt. Vernon passed away 2:45 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on May 4, 1955, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Leroy H. “Tutor” and Kathyrn June (Atkins) Hamlin. She married Rick Shreves on December 7, 1974 in Waltonville at the Freewill Baptist Church, and he survives in Mt.Vernon.
Diana was a member of Christian faith. Most of all she was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and nana.
She is survived by her husband, Rick Shreves of Mt. Vernon; mother, June Hamlin of Waltonville; mother-in-law, Norma Reininger of Mt. Vernon; son, Chad Shreves of Mt. Vernon; grandson, Druw Shreves of St. Peters, Mo.; sister, Brenda and husband Jack Kiselewski of Waltonville; brother-in-law, Michael Shreves of St. Louis; nephew, John Kiselewski and wife Joyce; niece, Ami and husband Geno Halloran; four great nephews Kadin Kiselewski, Ryker Kiselewski, Logan Halloran and Brady Halloran; step-great-nephew, Kristofer Harlow; step-great-niece, Kerstie Harlow; two uncles, Tommy Atkins and wife Rosemary and Donald Atkins and wife Ruth Ann; aunt, Marie Hall; and also many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Tutor Hamlin and four aunts, Ila Newell, Lillie Mae Hasara, Edna Bischoff and Lena Britton; five uncles Lowell Atkins, Bobby Atkins, Donald Hamlin, Ernie Hamlin and Joe Hamlin.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville with Chaplain Dan Lovin officiating.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm Sunday at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to Life Boat Alliance Homeless Shelter in Mt. Vernon and will be accepted at the Funeral Home.
