Nettie Daniels Withrow, 97, of Bluford, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Oct. 12, 1915, in Marion County, the daughter of James Champion and Emily “Emma” Isabella (Phelps) Dial. On Nov. 20, 1937, she married Earl R. Daniels, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1959. She later married Lowell Withrow on Sept. 27, 1963, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1984.
She was a homemaker, a member of Donoho Prairie Christian Church, and was an avid quilter and reader.
Nettie is survived by three sons, David Daniels and wife Sue of Mechanicsburg, John Daniels of Bluford, and Jerry Daniels and wife Barbara of Chillicothe; one stepson, Dwight Withrow of Bluford; eight grandchildren, Paul Daniels and wife Kerri of Louisville, Ky., Naomi Wands and husband Guy of Mason City, Thomas Daniels and wife Carrie of Orlando, Fla., Stephen Daniels and wife Chris of Pawnee, Christy Daniels Baldwin of Lexington, Tenn., Sherry Middleton and husband Tim of Lexington, Tenn., Douglas Daniels of Chicago, and Michael Daniels and wife Christina of Lynnwood, Wash.; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Dial; and two sisters-in-law, Viola Dial and Mildred Dial.
In addition to both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandchild; seven brothers, Clarence Dial, Francis Dial, James Dial, Ira Dial, Gale Dial, Gilbert Dial, and Earl Dial; 11 half brothers and sisters; and one stepdaughter.
Funeral services for Nettie will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2013, at Donoho Prairie Christian Church with Wayne Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Donoho Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. Monday, until the start of the service. Memorials may be made to Donoho Prairie Cemetery, and will be received at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, P.O.
