MT. VERNON —
Mary Evelyn Bateman of Altamont, Utah, and formerly of Jefferson County, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.
She was born in Jefferson County, the daughter of Clarence Alva and Betty Orvetta Phelps.
She attended Woodlawn High School. In 1954, she maried Glenn E. Bateman. They moved west in 1958.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years; her parents; and one brother, Nelson A. Phelps.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Glenn and Rodney Eugene Bateman, both of Utah; six grandchildren; a brother, Gene Phelps of Mt. Vernon; and two sisters, Bonnadine Eager of North Carolina and Estalee Short of Texas.
Her final resting place is in Pinedale, Wyo.
