MT. VERNON — Cynthia Kay Schnirring, 59, formerly of Opdyke, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in Cypress, Texas, after a courageous six-year battle against breast cancer.

Cindy was born in Springfield on July 16, 1951, to parents Frank and Dorothy Embree. Cindy married Rick Schnirring on March 5, 1977. Cindy established and was president of Doc Staff of Houston, Texas, from 2006 to 2009. 

She is survived by husband Rick Schnirring; daughters Jennifer (Schnirring) Rivera, Michelle Schnirring and Cassandra (Schnirring) Beltran; and seven grandchildren, Cynthia, Chyna and Nicholas Rivera, Jasmine and Mark Hernandez and Kersten and Kayla Beltran.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield and funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Cindy would prefer donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
