A’Journey Jarvi’Auna Mi’Heaven Roman, age two months and 27 days, of Mt. Vernon passed away 6:27 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
A’Journey was born Aug. 22, 2012, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Darleedria Flippen and Javier Roman. A’Journey attended the Southtown Apostolic Church in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by her father, Javier Roman; mother, Darleedria Flippen; one brother, Keawon Flippen; three sisters, Kiwyona Kivier Roman, Mayanna Dawn Roman, and Aaronayzha La’Va Collins; paternal grandmother, Lillie May Moore; maternal grandmother, Darla Flippen; maternal grandfather, Kentaro Hawkins; step-grandmother, Edoguina Velez; aunts and uncles, Cortis, Tor-Von, Yolanda, Zietta, Jessica, Brenda, Jose, Jessie and Kenez; two special cousins, Amanda and Christina; and a host of great aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jesse Roman and aunt, Angie Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Evangelistic Outreach Christian Center (1407 S. 11th Street Mt. Vernon) with pastors Garry Moore and James L. Gordon Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
