Carole Ann Richards, 68, of Belle Rive, died 2:35 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born July 24, 1944, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Eudel and Phyllis (McPherson) Tucker. She married Gene Richards on May 31, 1963, and he survives.
She was a retired beautician and Protestant by faith.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Richards of Belle Rive; her mother, Phyllis Tucker of Dahlgren; son, Jeff (Marsha) Richards of Dahlgren; sisters, Donna Sue (Marvin) Wilkerson of Dahlgren, Roberta June Eaton of Collinsville; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Tom) Williamson of Belle Rive, Joan (Russell) Clark of Belle Rive and Janet (Donald) Scrivner of Belle Rive; brothers-in-law, Paul (Iris) Richards of Belle Rive and Dennis (Colleen) Richards of Belle Rive; three grandchildren, Christopher, Corey and Caitlyn Richards; and several nephews, nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Eudel “Butch” Tucker, Jr.; two infant sisters; her father-in-law, Noel Richards; and her mother-in-law, Golda Richards Smith.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Hamson officiating. Interment will be at Belle Rive Cemetery in Belle Rive.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belle Rive Baptist Church and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
