MT. VERNON —
Howard Jackson “Jack” Petty, 68, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of Waltonville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Parrish Medical Center during a catherization procedure to his heart.
Jack was born in Mt. Vernon Sept. 6, 1944, the son of Howard R. and Reva Petty. He attended Waltonville High School and Brevard Community College in Florida. He also received diplomas from the University of Central Florida and Florida Institute of Technology. He was a licensed real estate agent.
Jack was lead cost analyst and estimator for ARSC, which is the Kennedy Space Center for more than 30 years until retirement. He served in the United States Navy for four years. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Gateway Blue Lodge and St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Titusville. He served on the board at St. Gabriel’s Church and participated in their jailhouse prison ministry program, which was one of his passions.
He is survived by his wife, Sandee Petty; daughters, Jackie Sue (Petty) Andersock of St. Louis and Karen Kennedy of Titusville; mother, Reva Petty of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Lin Petty of Mt. Vernon; sisters, Pat (Petty) Hayes and Rebecca (Petty) Mount, both of Mt. Vernon; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard R. Petty; a nephew, Jeffrey Webb; and all grandparents.
Memorial services were held at the St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at 2 p.m. with cremation burial following.
