Barbara M. Chizk, 71, of Mt. Vernon, died 2:55 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at her home in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Saturday, June 14, 1941, in Mt. Vernon, daughter of Abner L. and Dorothy Eva (Terry) Chizk.
Barbara worked for and retired from Mrs. Beard’s Bread Company in Houston. She was an avid animal lover and a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by two brothers, Donald D. Chizk and wife Lynda of Dallas and Max. L. Chizk of Crescent City, Fla.; four sisters, Carol L. Chizk Chambliss and husband Roger of Mt. Vernon, Rosemary Chizk of Huntsville, Texas, Sherry A. Chizk Ramon and husband Gilbert of Houston and Marjorie K. Chizk Rector and husband Jeff of Sesser; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jerry Chizk and Tommy Chizk.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Interment will be at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Visitation will be from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
