Mary Krivi

MT. VERNON — — Mary H. Krivi, 90, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Hartford, died 1:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Granite City to the late John and Anna (Kunichko) Stercho. On Aug. 24, 1941, she and Joseph C. Krivi were married in Granite City. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1994.

She had been a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and the St. Anne Altar Society as well as a Minister of Praise.

She is survived by son, Joseph C. Krivi Jr. of Mt. Vernon; daughters and one son-in-law, Carol S. and Tom Mieger of Frisco, Texas and Dr. Mary Ann Zipprich of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Thomas D. Mieger, James Holtgreve, Amy Mieger Journo, Julia Krivi, Jenna Krivi and Justin Krivi; great-grandchildren, Liliah Hayes, Justin Krivi, Aiden Mieger, Hudson Mieger, Benjamin Journo and Noah Journo; sister and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Jerry Chorosevic of Bristol, Va. and Martin Krivi of Hoylton; and sister-in-law, Helen Krivi Jaegers of St. Louis, Mo. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Anna Elledge; brothers, John, James, Walter C. and Mike Stercho; and great-granddaughter, Marith Rose Krivi.

Visitation was held 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River with Fr. James Flach as celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Mt. Olive.
