Ruthella Crawford, 93, of Ina, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton.
She was born in Jefferson County on May 9, 1919, the daughter of William Edgar and Ruby (Farmer) Williams.
She married William Gale Crawford on Oct. 7, 1940, in Ina, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2008.
Mrs. Crawford was affectionately known as “Granny” to her family. She loved baby-sitting and playing with her great-granddaughters. She loved to crochet, especially afghans and sewing. Mrs. Crawford enjoyed taking care of her home and tending to her flowers.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by her son-in-law, David Stiff and wife Tonya of Mt. Vernon; granddaughter, Nancy Montgomery and husband Jim of Opdyke; great-granddaughters, Anessa Montgomery and Samantha Montgomery; sisters, Eva Sweetin of Ina and Helen Payne of Ina; brother, Bill Rockett of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Martha Marie Stiff; sisters, Hazel Williams, Mayona Cramer and Nellie Bertsch; and brothers, Everett Williams, Ivan Williams and Rufus Rockett.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Kirk Cemetery in Ina with Elder Bill Rockett and Bro. Brad Ryan officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Kirk Cemetery Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
