Richard Oliver Yates, 67, of Du Quoin, died 9:13 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Fair Acres Rehabilitation and Care Center in Du Quoin.
He was born Thursday, Dec. 21, 1944, in Indianapolis, son of Cyrus Oliver Yates and Effie Mae (Davis) Yates.
Richard served in the U.S. Air Force, was a welder and was a member of First Baptist Church of Du Quoin.
He is survived by daughter, Tracey Nagel and husband Mark of Indiana and several cousins, including Carolyn Young and Peggy Davis of Mt. Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one cousin, Danny Young.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Du Quoin with the Rev. Richard Pearce officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Du Quoin.
There will be no visitation.
