Charles G. Riley, 74, of McLeansboro, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at McLeansboro Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Hamilton County on March 23, 1934, a son of Roy and Beulah (Barnett) Riley. He married Arlene Floyd on May 26, 1953, and she survives. He was a retired farmer.
Graveside memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Brush Harbor Cemetery near McLeansboro with the Rev. Scott Webb officiating. Interment will follow.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by a son, Raymond Riley and wife Rose of McLeansboro; daughter Barbara Barnes of Oxford, Fla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Brenda Lueke and husband Charles of McLeansboro; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Verl Riley; a brother, Gary York; a sister, Bonnie Morris; one granddaughter, Jamie Bare; and one sister, Eleanor Jo Floyd.
Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and served as Crook Township road commissioner for 14 years.
