Bonnie June Payne, 60, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at her home in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Monday, March 31, 1952, in East St. Louis, to James Payne Sr. and Esther (Thompson) Payne.
She is survived by her mother, Esther Payne of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Angela Tolliver and husband Robert of Salem, Venedy Neal of Denver, Colo., and Dana Ordoyne and husband Paul of Thibodaux, La.; nine grandchildren, Raven Sumner of Plainfield, Crystal Tolliver and Amber Tolliver of Salem, Sara and Chad Neal of Denver, Colo., Kelly Franklin IV and Blake Franklin of Benton, Ky., and Dustin and Nicholas Ordoyne of Thibodaux, La.; two great-grandchildren, Cambria Watson of Salem and Chloe Franklin of Benton, Ky.; five brothers, James Payne Jr. of Mt. Vernon, Jesse “Butch” Payne of Mt. Vernon, Johnny Payne of Mt. Vernon, Fred Payne of Mt. Vernon and Julian Payne and wife Bonnie of Mt. Vernon; sister, Gloria Foster and husband Ronnie of Dix; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Her father, James Payne Sr., preceded her in death.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Julian Payne officiating. Bonnie will be cremated following the celebration of life service.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Payne family and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
