MT. VERNON —
Virginia M. Keef, 90, of rural Mt. Vernon, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Sunday, May 14, 1922, in Centralia, to Robert Warner Keef and Fannie (Baker) Keef.
Virginia was an accountant of Scot Lad Foods, Inc., in Eldorado, before retiring, and she was a member of Bakerville Free Will Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Cubb Cemetery in Dodds Township, Jefferson County with the Rev. David Milburn officiating. Interment will follow at Cubb Cemetery in Dodds Township, Jefferson County.
There will be no visitation.
She is survived by a niece, Louise Webb of Rock Springs, Wyo.; a great-niece, Karin Sanders and husband Jason of Rock Springs, Wyo.; great-nephew, Eli Webb of Overland Park, Kan.; a great-great-niece, Samantha Sanders of Rock Springs, Wyo.; a great-great-nephew, Jordan Sanders of Rock Springs, Wyo.; special friends, Maxine Myers, Virginia Bain and Sherry gibson, all of Mt. Vernon; and several cousins also survive.
Her parents; two sisters; Roberta Jean “Bobby” Keef and Shirley Rector; one niece, Donna Webb; and one nephew, David Webb, preceded her in death.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to Cubb Cemetery or to Bakerville Free Will Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
