Norma Frances Colbert, 75, of Mt. Vernon, died 12:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Thursday, Jan. 7, 1937, in Mt. Vernon, daughter of Glen and Bernice (Dycus) Etheridge. She married Joseph Colbert on March 9, 1958, in East Alton.
Norma was a homemaker and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Colbert of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Glenda Sigwerth of Mt. Vernon and Vickie Schulte and husband Bill of Mt. Vernon; son, Eric Colbert and wife Jennifer of Dix; six grandchildren, Michael Sigwerth of St. Louis, Brandon Schulte and wife Lea of Bonnie, Whitney Chaudoin and husband Michael of Opdyke, Tanner Colbert of Mt. Vernon and Taylor Colbert and Erika Colbert of Dix; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Chaudoin of Opdyke and Elaina Schulte of Bonnie; and their beloved dog “Buddy”.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Frank Huston and the Rev. Don Rector officiating. Interment will be at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
