Anthony “Tony” Gerdgen, Jr., 95, of Sesser, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Mt. Vernon Health Care.
He was born in Yukon, Penn., the son of Anthony Gerdgen and Barbara (Ivanovick) Gerdgen.
He was a factory worker and a member of Sesser VFW and St. Mary Catholic Church in Sesser. He was an Army veteran of W.W.II and of Civilian Conversation Corps.
He is survived by two nephews, Ron and Donna Perjenski of Mt. Vernon and Tom and Shirley Perjenski of Waltonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Perjenski and Barbara Comazzi; and two brothers, George Gerdgen and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Peter Balili officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at St. Mary Church in Sesser.
