MT. VERNON —
Stella Louise Rubenacker, 80, of Wayne City near Aden, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
She was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Hugo, to Frank Bennet and Essie (Crowe) Bennett.
She married Charles W. Rubenacker on Nov. 14, 1953, in Oklahome, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2011.
She was a cook and was formerly employed by St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Piopolis.
She loved flowers and crosswords, and spoiling her grandkids.
She is survived by two sons, William Joseph Rubenacker of McLeansboro and Albert Franklin Rubenacker and wife Donna of Paris; one daughter, Candice Marie Boyd and husband Ernest of Davenport, Iowa; two granddaughters, Katherine M. Chizk and Kayla D. Howard; two grandsons, Clifford T. Howard and Charles O. Howard; two great-granddaughters, Paige and Madison Chizk; one great-grandson, Donavan W. Howard-Rubenacker; one sister, Lois Jones and husband Bill of Villa Grove; and one brother, Don Bennett of Hugo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; and one brother, Jim Bennett.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Piopolis with Fr. Slawomir Ptak officiating. Interment will follow at St. Clements Catholic Cemetery in McLeansboro.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Catholic Church in Piopolis.
Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all arrangements.
